Argument anatomy
Conclusion, evidence, assumption, and the gap the question stem targets.
The current LSAT is built from Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. The Logic Games (Analytical Reasoning) section was removed beginning with the August 2024 administration. A study plan that still centers games is out of date.
Logical Reasoning items give a short argument and ask you to strengthen, weaken, infer, find a flaw, or describe the reasoning. Reading Comprehension uses longer passages, including comparative reading, and asks about purpose, structure, and supported details.
LSAC also administers a separate writing sample. It is not a games section and it is not scored like the multiple-choice sections. Check LSAC for the current section count and timing rather than an older prep book’s table of contents. Logic Games were removed in August 2024; retire those cards.
Conclusion, evidence, assumption, and the gap the question stem targets.
Strengthen, weaken, flaw, inference, parallel, and method-of-reasoning.
Why the author included a paragraph, and what a comparative passage adds.
Conditional language, sufficient versus necessary, and common scope shifts.
If your materials still open with grouping and sequencing games, park them. Spend that time on arguments and passages.
Weeks 1–4
Card sufficient versus necessary, common flaw types, and the job of each stem. Untimed accuracy before speed.
Weeks 5–9
Timed LR and RC. Card only the recurring move you missed — a scope shift, a comparative-passage purpose — not the whole passage.
Weeks 10–12
Full practice tests in the official digital format. New cards should be rare. Review misses the same day.
LSAT cards should store argument moves: “this weaken answer attacks the causal link,” “this inference stays inside the scope.” Cards about the passage’s subject matter (biology, law, art) are usually wasted.
Spaced repetition is a support act. The exam is a timed performance. Use cards for formal language and recurring flaws, then spend most minutes on fresh questions.
Cover the answers and say what the stem wants you to do.
State the assumption in one sentence before you look at choices.
After reading, say each paragraph’s job in a few words.
400 argument-move cards at 40 minutes a day. Timed sections need a larger daily block than this.
Estimate: 30 seconds per new card, 10 seconds per review. Fixed review gaps, not FSRS or a recall prediction.

Analytical Reasoning was removed beginning August 2024. Current official tests do not include a games section.
Not for the current LSAT. That time is better spent on Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension.
They help you remember formal moves. Score change comes from timed, reviewed official questions.
The LSAT tests reasoning on unfamiliar content. The MBE tests legal rules you are expected to know.
