Creating an account is quick. Visit app.goodoff.co or download the mobile app, then sign up with your email address, Google account, or Apple ID. You'll be asked to set a display name and optionally choose your study interests so we can recommend relevant community decks.

After signing up, we recommend: (1) Create or import a small deck of 20-30 cards on a topic you're currently studying, (2) Do your first review session, where the app will introduce new cards and quiz you, (3) Rate each card honestly (Again, Hard, Good, Easy) so the algorithm can calibrate to your knowledge level. Your first session typically takes 5-10 minutes.

Yes! GoodOff supports importing from multiple platforms. For Anki, use .apkg files directly. For Quizlet, export your set as a CSV or use our direct Quizlet import feature. We also support CSV, TSV, and plain text imports with customizable delimiters. Brainscape and other apps that export to CSV are also compatible.

Go to Settings > Study Goals to configure your daily targets. You can set goals for: minimum cards reviewed per day, new cards to learn per day, and target study time. The app will send you reminders if you haven't met your goals and track your consistency on the goals dashboard. Start with modest goals (e.g., 10 minutes/day) and increase as the habit forms.

GoodOff uses a modified FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler) algorithm, which is more accurate than traditional SM-2 algorithms used by older apps. It tracks your performance on each card, including response time and difficulty rating, and calculates optimal review intervals. GoodOff makes studying engaging with a full gamification system. You earn XP (experience points) for every card reviewed, with bonuses for correct answers and consistent study sessions. Maintain daily streaks by studying at least once per day. As you accumulate XP, you level up and unlock achievements. Compete with friends and the community on leaderboards!

Yes! You can easily import your Anki decks (.apkg files) into GoodOff. All your cards, media, and tags will be preserved. We also support importing from Quizlet, CSV files, and other popular formats. Your existing scheduling data can optionally be migrated too.

Yes! On the web app, use: Space to flip a card, 1/2/3/4 to rate Again/Hard/Good/Easy, E to edit the current card, S to star/flag a card, and Ctrl+Z to undo your last rating. You can view and customize all shortcuts in Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts. These work in all study modes.

Go to Settings > Subscription > Change Plan. When upgrading, you'll be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing cycle. When downgrading, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing period. You keep all premium features until then. Your flashcards and data are never deleted when changing plans.

We offer monthly and annual billing cycles. Annual plans save 50%. You can switch between monthly and annual billing at any time from your subscription settings. Annual plans are billed as a single payment at the start of each year.

Go to Settings > Subscription > Billing History to view all past transactions. Each entry includes the date, amount, and plan details. Click any transaction to download a PDF receipt suitable for expense reports or tax purposes. You can also have receipts automatically emailed to you after each payment.

Sync issues are usually resolved by: (1) Ensuring you're logged into the same account on both devices, (2) Checking your internet connection, (3) Pulling down to refresh on the mobile app, (4) Logging out and back in. Yes! Recently deleted cards are moved to the Trash and can be recovered for up to 30 days. Go to your deck, tap the menu icon, and select 'Trash' to restore cards. After 30 days, cards are permanently deleted. We recommend exporting important decks as backups periodically.

Storage limits depend on your current plan and are shown in the app. Individual images are limited to 10MB each, and audio files to 20MB. You can check your current storage usage and limits in Settings > Storage.

Text-only study sessions use minimal data (under 1MB per session). Sessions with images use more depending on card content, typically 5-20MB per session. To minimize data usage, enable 'Download on Wi-Fi Only' in Settings > Data Usage, which pre-downloads media when connected to Wi-Fi. Offline mode uses zero data.

Yes, accessibility is a priority. GoodOff supports VoiceOver (iOS), TalkBack (Android), and screen readers on web. Your data is stored on encrypted servers with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS encryption in transit. We use industry-standard cloud infrastructure in the US, with automated security scanning of our code. Your flashcard content, study progress, and personal information are all protected with multiple layers of security.

GoodOff is not for children under 13. We ask for your date of birth before you create an account, and we do not create accounts for anyone under 13. We do not offer parent-managed accounts. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we delete it.

Yes! You can export all your data at any time from Settings > Account > Export Data. This includes all your flashcards (in multiple formats including Anki-compatible .apkg), study history, analytics data, and account information. We believe in data portability: your data is yours.

Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. You'll be asked to confirm, and then all your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. This includes flashcards, study history, analytics, and personal information. This action is irreversible, so we recommend exporting your data first.

When you use AI flashcard generation or the voice tutor, we send the content that task needs to an AI provider such as Google Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic through their business (API) services. Each provider handles it under its own API terms, which can include keeping it for a limited time to prevent abuse. AI-generated flashcards are stored in your account like any other cards.

We follow the GDPR for everyone who uses GoodOff from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland. You have the right to access, correct, export and delete your personal data, to object, and to withdraw consent. You can use these rights in Settings > Privacy or by emailing privacy@goodoff.co. Our privacy policy lists every use of your data, its legal basis and our service providers.

Active accounts retain all data indefinitely. If you don't log in for 24 months, we'll send you a reminder email before any action is taken. Deleted accounts have all personal data purged within 30 days, though anonymized analytics and records the law requires us to keep (such as payment records) may be retained. Deleted data leaves our database backups within 30 days.

GoodOff integrates with: Stripe (payments), Google Gemini, OpenAI and Anthropic (AI generation and tutoring), LlamaParse and Mistral (document parsing), ElevenLabs (audio and podcasts), Supabase (database and authentication), DigitalOcean (servers and file storage), Expo (push notifications), and Cloudflare (CDN and security). GoodOff's streak system helps reinforce this. Morning study sessions tend to yield better retention, but consistency matters more than timing.

The key principles are: (1) Be honest with your card ratings, so don't mark cards as 'Easy' if you hesitated, (2) Study every day, even if just for 5 minutes, (3) Don't skip scheduled reviews, since the algorithm works best with consistent input, (4) Keep cards simple and focused on one concept each, (5) Use images and mnemonics where possible for stronger memory encoding.

Let the algorithm decide! GoodOff's modified FSRS algorithm calculates the optimal review time for each card based on your history. Just open the app daily and study whatever cards are due. The 'due count' badge tells you how many cards need review. Avoid reviewing cards before they're due, because the spacing effect works by testing recall after a delay.

We recommend 15-30 minute sessions for daily reviews. If you're learning new material, you can go longer but take a 5-minute break every 25 minutes (Pomodoro technique). GoodOff's session timer helps you track this. Quality focus matters more than quantity: 20 focused minutes beats 60 distracted ones.

Follow these principles: (1) One concept per card (atomic cards), (2) Use clear, unambiguous questions, (3) Add images or diagrams when possible, (4) Use cloze deletions for definitions and lists, (5) Include context but keep it concise, (6) Avoid 'yes/no' questions, since they're too easy to guess. Our AI flashcard generator follows these principles automatically.

Start with 10-20 new cards per day and adjust based on your review workload. If your daily reviews exceed 100 cards, slow down on new cards, because reviews should always take priority over learning new material. GoodOff lets you set daily new card limits in deck settings. Remember: it's better to deeply learn fewer cards than to superficially see many.

Start early, ideally 4-6 weeks before your exam. Create or import cards covering all exam topics, then study daily with spaced repetition. Two weeks before the exam, stop adding new cards and focus on reviewing existing ones. Use Cram Mode for final review the day before. GoodOff's analytics can show you which topics need more attention based on your retention rates.

GoodOff's AI accepts: PDF documents, Word files (.docx), plain text (.txt), Markdown (.md), PowerPoint presentations (.pptx), images (.jpg, .png, including photos of textbooks or whiteboards), and you can also paste text directly. The maximum document upload size is 50MB.

Yes! Batch generation lets you upload multiple files and generate cards from all of them in one go. This is great for processing an entire course's worth of lecture slides or a set of chapter PDFs. The AI will organize generated cards by source and topic. Batch generation is available on Pro.

The Voice Tutor works best in English, with growing support for Spanish, French, German, and Mandarin. It may struggle with: very technical pronunciation (e.g., organic chemistry nomenclature), strong accents in noisy environments, and extremely long or complex answers. For best results, study in a quiet environment and speak clearly. The AI improves as it learns your voice patterns over sessions.

You can share decks in several ways: (1) Generate a share link that anyone with the link can use to copy your deck, (2) Publish your deck to the GoodOff community library for anyone to discover, (3) Share directly with specific users by entering their username or email. You can choose whether others can edit the deck or only study it.

Create or join study groups to collaborate with classmates or study partners. Group members can share decks, track each other's progress, compete on group leaderboards, and chat within the group. Groups are perfect for class study sessions: one person can create the deck and everyone benefits. Create a group from the Community tab in the app.

Leaderboards rank users by XP earned within a time period (daily, weekly, monthly, all-time). You can compete globally, within your study groups, or among friends. Leaderboard rankings reset weekly to give everyone a fresh chance. Top performers earn special badges and achievements displayed on their profile.

If you encounter inappropriate content in shared decks or the community forum, tap the three-dot menu on the content and select 'Report.' Choose the reason (spam, offensive material, copyright violation, etc.) and submit. Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24 hours. Yes! The GoodOff community forum is a place to discuss study strategies, share tips, ask for deck recommendations, and connect with other learners. You can post in topic-specific channels (by subject, exam prep, language learning, etc.), respond to other users, and earn community XP for helpful contributions.

The deck marketplace lets you browse, search, and download community-created decks. Decks are organized by subject, difficulty, and popularity. Creators can publish available decks, and popular decks may be featured on the marketplace homepage. You can preview card samples before downloading a deck.

We use a combination of automated filters and human review. All published decks are scanned for inappropriate content, copyright violations, and spam. Community members can report issues, and our moderation team reviews flagged content within 24 hours. Repeat violators may have their publishing privileges revoked. We're committed to keeping the community safe and educational.

Verified creators have a green checkmark on their profile, indicating they produce high-quality, accurate content. To qualify, you need: at least 10 published decks, 500+ total downloads, an average rating of 4.0+, and no moderation violations. Apply through your profile settings once you meet the criteria. Verified creators get priority placement in marketplace search results.

Yes! Verified creators can publish premium decks and set their own pricing. GoodOff takes a small platform fee, and creators receive the rest via monthly payouts. Top creators earn meaningful supplemental income by sharing high-quality study materials. Free decks also help you build a following and reputation in the community.
